Health checks gone, 16 deaths in 6 days of Char Dham yatra

The Char Dham yatra has witnessed the deaths of 16 pilgrims within six days of its commencement on May 3. A majority of the fatalities were due to cardiac-related issues faced by those going to the shrines which are situated at altitudes ranging between 10,000 ft and 12,000 ft.
